Meet Jessalyn Barrett

Hello, my name is Jessalyn Barrett, and I am the attorney and owner of Barrett Law.

I graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and I began my career as a paralegal in personal injury law firms around Atlanta. For six years, I managed cases and clients, all while attending Georgia State University College of Law’s part-time program. In 2019, I proudly graduated cum laude with my law degree.

After law school, I began my legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, where I prosecuted felonies and conducted multiple jury trials, securing favorable verdicts for the State. I was also responsible for the appeals process, handling hearings on motions for new trials and drafting briefs for the Georgia Court of Appeals, all of which resulted in wins based on the briefs alone.

During my time at the District Attorney’s Office, I was temporarily assigned to the circuit’s Drug Court and Mental Health Court, and eventually became the District Attorney’s representative for the Mental Health Court. It was incredibly rewarding to watch individuals in these accountability courts achieve goals they once thought were impossible.

When I opened my law practice, chose to focus on family law because I believe in providing compassionate and informed advocacy to clients navigating life’s most challenging transitions. My mission is to ensure that every client receives the support and guidance they deserve during difficult times.

Outside of my practice, I love spending time with my husband and our four children—two sets of twins. I also have a passion for cooking, relaxing on the beach, and traveling.

Hello, I'm Sawyer Martin.

I am dedicated to guiding individuals and families through what can often feel like an overwhelming legal journey. With a focus on family law, I approach every case with respect, honesty, and compassion so that my clients feel supported and understood at every step. My goal is not only to advocate fiercely on behalf of my clients, but also to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. At Barrett Law, I work to ensure that every client’s goals are clearly understood while delivering efficient, effective representation focused on achieving the best possible outcome.

I was raised in the small town of Belton, South Carolina, where I learned the values of community, hard work, and family. Those values guide my practice today, allowing me to connect with clients not just as their attorney, but as someone who understands the importance of creating stability and protecting what matters most.

I graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston before earning the prestigious Sandra Day O’Connor full-tuition scholarship to attend New England Law | Boston. Today, I am proud to serve Richmond Hill, Georgia, and the surrounding communities, helping families build secure and lasting futures.
